Course description
This course will provide a foundation for nurses interested in or currently functioning in the role of delivery room nurse by reviewing the orientation process and role expectations. This course will also review maternal factors and associated fetal impacts in addition to assessment of fetal well-being. Specific high-risk delivery situations will be discussed: prematurity, gastroschisis, hydrops fetalis, myelomeningocele, higher-order multiples and cardiac. Learners will review the foundations of neonatal resuscitation, teamwork and collaboration prior to participating in high-fidelity simulations. Operating room etiquette and maintaining sterility will be reviewed.
C.E. contact hours
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 5.75 contact hours.
Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 20 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.

$25 registration deposit. Registration deposit is returned upon completion of class. Cancellation must be requested five days prior to class date to receive deposit refund. Please register through UC Learning Center and call our office at 916-734-9790 with your deposit by credit card.
Registrations are approved only after your deposit is provided.
Community registrants
This class is only open to UC Davis Health employees.
