Course description
This course is for bedside providers caring for pediatric patients with complex single ventricle cardiac disease. Specifically, this course will enhance the learner's knowledge of the latest developments and advances in pre and post-op care of the single ventricle patients including hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) and evidenced based practices to improve outcomes. Topics to be discussed include pre-and post-care of single ventricle patient, the three stage palliation surgical strategies, ventilator strategies utilized for these patients, importance and significance of near infrared spectrometry, extracorporeal life support status post Norwood procedure and post-op complications/advance nursing care of these complications to improve outcomes. Additionally, discharge needs and home monitoring program will be explored and discussed.
C.E. contact hours
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 5.16 contact hours.
Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 20 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.

$25 registration deposit. Registration deposit is returned upon completion of class. Cancellation must be requested five days prior to class date to receive deposit refund. Please register through UC Learning Center and call our office at 916-734-9790 with your deposit by credit card.
Registrations are approved only after your deposit is provided.
Community registrants
$52 registration fee. Cancellation must be requested five days prior to class date to receive a full refund. A $25 service fee will be charged after this date.

Parking
