Entravision and Children’s Miracle Network at UC Davis announced that $182,960 was raised for UC Davis Children’s Hospital during its 72-hour Radiothon last month.
The Radiothon program has been an integral part of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals' fundraising efforts since 1997. Today more than 300 stations participate in Radiothons annually, raising about $50 million each year for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals nationally.
During the Radiothon, which was held Aug. 17-19 in the Sacramento, Stockton and Modesto areas, radio stations Hot 103.5 KHHM-FM, Wolf 101.9 KNTY-FM, Jose 104.3, La Tricolor 99.9 and 100.9 and Super Estrella 98.9 broadcasted a mix of patient stories, facts and interviews into regular programming to raise awareness of and funds for UC Davis Children’s Hospital.
Hot 103.5 and Wolf 101.9 on-air talent also broadcasted from the pediatric playroom and teen room on Davis 7 in the children's hospital on Aug. 17-18.
“We are so thankful for the outpouring of support from Entravision listeners,” said Michelle Thompson, associate director of Children’s Miracle Network at UC Davis. “The Sacramento community has really stepped up to make a difference for sick and injured children at UC Davis Children’s Hospital.”
The Radiothon is a cooperative effort among Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Entravision radio stations.
All funds raised locally stay local, supporting life-saving equipment, research, patient care and programs at UC Davis Children’s Hospital.
