The UC Davis Medical Center is a 630-bed hospital and the only academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center in the northern Central Valley of California. It includes the Cancer Center and Lawrence J. Ellison Ambulatory Care Center buildings where you will also work.  It is a major tertiary referral center, but also a key healthcare provider for its surrounding community.  It is the primary training site for the residency, and residents spend approximately 70% of their time on rotations at the Medical Center hospital or clinics. The majority of our residents have their continuity clinic based here.

The Sacramento Kaiser Permanente system is the most extensive healthcare system in the Sacramento Area, caring for more than 50% of the patients in our region! Our residents work at several North Kaiser and South Kaiser hospital sites in clinics, inpatient wards, and the ICU. Approximately ten residents per year have their continuity clinic based in a Kaiser Clinic. Residents spend about 15% of their time at Kaiser over their residency.

The Sacramento VA Medical Center is a 60-bed state-of-the-art hospital. Its relatively small size makes it operate much like a small community hospital.  It has a sizeable ambulatory clinic apparatus. Our residents work in the clinics, wards, and the ICU.  Residents spend approximately 15% of their time at the VA over three years.

This Sacramento County clinic sees Medi-Cal, uninsured, and undocumented patients of Sacramento. It is a continuity site for 28 residents, it has an urgent care clinic, and there are subspecialty clinics in nephrology, cardiology, neurology, sports medicine, and rheumatology. There is a robust mental health program and pharmacy team that the residents collaborate with regularly. This county clinic has a robust version of the Epic EMR.

The Dignity Health System is a large hospital and clinic system in our area.  Our residents rotate at the clinic building near the medical center for geriatrics, podiatry, allergy, and immunology clinic experiences.

Our Military Track residents, who are Air Force officers, all rotate through the David Grant Medical Center in Fairfield, California.  This medical center on the Travis Air Force Base serves active military and veterans.
