Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is an interfaith professional education for ministry and personal development. CPE prepares one to serve as a spiritual care provider in many contexts. Although there are several CPE programs, Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) is the Standard for Spiritual Care and Education. The ACPE  is a premier Department of Education recognized organization that provides the highest quality CPE programs for Spiritual Care Professions of any faith and in any setting.

The ACPE website provides answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about CPE to better informed prospective students and the public.

Our CPE training (Level I, Level II, and certified educator CPE) is an extensive and intensive work-learn education experience.  The action-reflection-action experience focuses on the individual and small group formation as a spiritual care provider, skill development, and the ability to reflect on one’s experiences and integrate concepts and experiences. We assist international applicants in completing the J-1 visa application.

Our CPE:

  • Offers training for seminarians whose faith groups require one CPE unit.
  • Provides training for those looking to serve in the military, prison, hospital settings, hospice and home health care, and homeless care as professional chaplains.
  • Provides continuous education for congregational leaders needing skills in caring for people or doing hospital ministry.
