UC Davis Health’s Cardiothoracic Surgery team performed a Type A aortic dissection to save a patient’s life. To successfully complete the procedure, the team placed the patient on cardiopulmonary bypass. The tear was fixed in the ascending aorta by replacing the damaged section with a long-lasting synthetic graft.
UC Davis Health cardiologists share promising findings from a recent clinical trial involving the heart valve procedure called transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER). They found that it reduced the severity of tricuspid regurgitation, and was associated with improved quality of life for patients.
