Allergy and Immunology Fellowship

Clinical Training

Clinical training on medical manniquin.

The majority of clinical rotations will be on the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento, which includes the allergy and immunology clinics as well as the ear, nose and throat (ENT), dermatology and pulmonary clinics. Fellows will also have diverse clinical inpatient and outpatient experiences at other site locations.

  • Sacramento VA Medical Center, Mather
  • UC Davis Health Medical Group, Roseville
  • Kaiser Permanente, Rancho Cordova

Sample Clinical Training Schedule

  • 26 weeks – A/I Clinics (UC Davis, VA, Kaiser) and Inpatient experience
  • 2 weeks – Subspecialty Clinic experience (Dermatology, Pulmonary)
  • 8 weeks – Research development and implementation
  • 8 weeks – Other scholarly activity
  • 4 weeks – Vacation
  • 14 weeks – A/I Clinics (UCD, Kaiser) and Inpatient experience
  • 8 weeks – Subspecialty Clinic experience (Dermatology, Pulmonary, Rheumatology)
  • 12 weeks – Research development and implementation
  • 10 weeks – Other scholarly activity
  • 4 weeks – Vacation

Mission

Our mission is to train allergists and immunologists who will be competent and compassionate clinicians with excellent diagnostic skills and knowledge to serve their local community including the underserved.

Program Aims

  1. Create an educational environment that stimulates intellectual growth
  2. Provide an outstanding academic and social environment during fellowship training
  3. Provide the trainee with an appropriate background to establish a successful career in clinical allergy and immunology.
  4. Provide flexibility of rotation structure which allows trainees to pursue skills related to their career goals
  5. Expose the trainee to training in basic science and biomedical research, enabling them to understand the mechanisms of the origin of the allergic and immunologic diseases.
