Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship

How to Apply

The UC Davis Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Pediatric Specialties Fall Match. All applications are through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), the online application service of the AAMC.

Eligibility Criteria

As outlined by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) and ACGME, applicants must meet eligibility criteria for this fellowship program including:

  • Board eligibility or board certification in Pediatrics or Internal Medicine-Pediatrics
  • ECFMG certification, if pertinent
  • Completion of the ERAS application
  • At least 3 letters of recommendation
  • School of Medicine transcript
  • USMLE/COMLEX transcript of Step 1-3 scores
  • Personal interview
International Medical Graduates
  • Applying for a Postgraduate Position

    Graduates of International Medical Schools must meet all California Medical Board licensing requirements for either a Post Graduate Training License (PTL) or a California Physician’s and Surgeon’s License, and any J-1 visa sponsorship requirements (if applicable).

    Visas

    A clinical J-1 visa is required for admission to UC Davis Health residency and fellowship training programs. The visa can only be sponsored by ECFMG, which requires passage of USMLE Steps 1 and 2. Applicants on a J-1 with a waiver from the Department of State (DOS) can only be accepted into our programs on an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) or J-1 visa Physician Program.

More About the Program

The Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellowship is an ACGME-accredited three-year fellowship program that seeks to train leaders in the field of pediatric critical care. The fellowship provides clinical training in the acute management and coordination of care for critically ill pediatric patients.

Our fellowship provides the knowledge, skills and attitudes to prepare fellows to serve as educators and physician scientists who contribute to advances in the field of pediatric critical care medicine.
